Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman hailed Rio Ngumoha as "the best" after the Liverpool sensation's last-gasp winner against Newcastle United on Monday. Ngumoha stole the limelight at St James' Park with a brilliant strike to become the youngest Liverpool scorer in Premier League history. Two days earlier, Dowman became the second-youngest player to represent the Gunners in the English top flight.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  After a dramatic 4-2 win over Bournemouth in their season opener, Liverpool picked up yet another thrilling victory on Monday as they clinched a five-goal classic against Newcastle. The Reds took a 2-0 lead against a 10-man Magpies side through Hugo Ekitike and Ryan Gravenberch's strikes, but the hosts came back with great vigour in the second half and drew the scores level heading into 11 minutes of added time. Super sub Ngumoha then stepped up in the 100th minute and scored the winning goal.

  Ngumoha, who turns 17 this Friday, wrote history with his later winner at St James' Park as he became the second 16-year-old to score a winning goal in a Premier League game after Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney did it for Everton against Arsenal in October 2002.

  Two days earlier, Ngumoha's England Under-17s team-mate Dowman flourished for Arsenal against Leeds as he became the second-youngest player to represent the Gunners in the Premier League after Ethan Nwaneri. Dowman lauded Ngumoha's efforts against Newcastle with a social media post, which read: "the best @rio_ngumoha"
